Guide To Lose Some Pounds Fast
If you need or want to lose some pounds fast it is possible, but it is not the best way to maintain a weight loss program. However, if you insist on losing some weight quickly, but not necessarily for the long term, there is a well know diet program which will allow you to lose around ten pounds per week.
Before I go any further with this information please understand I do NOT recommend or endorse the program. As always, it is important that you consult your doctor before you begin any diet or exercise program. If you have some unknown medical condition, starting a diet plan of this type could be dangerous to your health.
You can lose some pounds fast by employing the first phase of the popular Atkins Diet. It’s officially called, “Atkins Nutritional Approach”. If you are not familiar with this diet plan, it is a low carbohydrate diet. Before you go jumping into this type of diet let me give you some insight into what a low-carbohydrate diet is about and how it works.
A low-carbohydrate diet involves limiting the amount of carbohydrates we eat in order to induce our body to burn stored body fat for fuel. Our body, as it metabolizes the food we eat, will first use carbohydrates for fuel. The more carbohydrates we eat the less chance our body has to burn stored fat for fuel. When our body burns stored fat for fuel then we lose weight. Sounds simple, but it is not so simple to follow a low-carbohydrate routine.
The Atkins Diet is a four phase plan. The first phase is the most restrictive and this is usually when many see the most significant weight loss — reports of losses of 5 to 10 pounds per week are not uncommon when combined with daily exercise. Two weeks are recommended for the first phase. If you just want to lose some pounds fast then this first phase will provide you the means to do so.
The basics of the first phase are as follows:
Carbohydrate intake is limited to no more or less than 20 net grams per day (grams of carbohydrates minus grams of fiber, sugar alcohols, or glycerin), 12 to 15 net grams of which must come in the form of salad greens and other vegetables (broccoli, spinach, pumpkin, cauliflower, turnips, tomatoes, and asparagus, to name a few of the 54 allowable vegetables [but not legumes, such as green beans, since they are too starchy for the induction phase]). The allowed foods include a liberal amount of all meats, poultry, fish, shellfish, fowl, and eggs; up to 4 ounces (113 g) of soft or semi-soft cheese such as cheddar cheese; salad vegetables; other low carbohydrate vegetables; and butter, olive oil and vegetable oils. Drinking eight glasses of water per day is a requirement during this phase. Alcoholic beverages are not allowed during this phase. Caffeine is allowed in moderation so long as it does not cause cravings or low blood sugar. If a caffeine addiction is evident, it is best to not allow it until later phases of the diet. A daily multivitamin with minerals, except iron, is also recommended.
Once again I do Not recommend or endorse this diet plan . We are not affiliated with plan in any manner. It is presented to you only as a way to lose pounds fast.
