Whoever heard of exercising being fun, well it can be!!

One of the most difficult parts of maintaining an exercise routine is the fact that very few of us enjoy exercising. We start out with a bang and end up with a pop. It does not have to be so. There are different ways we can put some fun into our exercising. One of the most effective ways to add a little fun to your exercise routine is to do it with someone. It can be a friend, your husband and yes, even your children.

One of the easiest ways for you to be able to do this is to enlist a friend to exercise along with you.  This can be very motivational as each of you will be keeping the other going. This can be especially true if you are going to a gym for your workouts. It allows you to be more comfortable in a gym setting when you have someone you know to exercise with.

When possible have several friends with whom you can exercise. If you and your friends are exercising at home then rotate where you exercise and rotate the type of exercises you do.

Get your husband or boyfriend to exercise with you. It can give you extra time together to talk and enjoy each other.

Exercise with your children. I don’t mean take them to the gym with you. I am talking about getting them away from the TV and getting outdoors. Take them bike riding, to the zoo, play outdoor games that involve running or jumping, use your imagination. Put up a mobile basketball goal in your driveway or badminton net in the backyard. Most children will enjoy doing a lot of different things as long as their parents are involved.

My daughter and her family have a Wii video game. It provides a tremendous amount of enjoyment for them along with some great indoor exercises. The game has provided a means for them to play together as a family and get some needed exercises for a small investment of money.

Exercise can be fun for you and your family if you just put a little imagination into how you go about getting your exercise.
